The Bloomington field between 7th and 8th Street on Locust served as a key site for the 5th Annual Earth Day Community Cleanup, a collaborative effort between BRPD, San Bernardino County Code Enforcement, and 5th District Supervisor Joe Baca.
The event began early just south of Kessler Park. BRPD staff supported the effort by providing a PA system, tools, a tractor, a Gator, and overall event setup. Volunteers from Bloomington High School’s baseball and softball teams, the Girl Scouts, the Bloomington MAC, and other community members worked together to clean a nearby field that had been heavily impacted by trash, tires, and other debris.

All participants received lunch and a free T-shirt, generously provided by the 5th District Supervisor.
At the same time, Kessler Park hosted a Community Dump Day in partnership with County Code Enforcement. More than a dozen roll-off bins were placed on the west end of the park for public use.
Overall, it was a highly successful day—significant progress was made, and the event concluded safely with no reported injuries.
