Community Facilities District No. 2002-1 (Central Valley FPD—Fire Protection Services) was formed under the terms of the Mello-Roos Community Facilities Act of 1982, Chapter 2.5 of Division 2 of Title 5 of the California Government Code, commencing with Section 53311. This community facilities district was formed while under the jurisdiction of the Central Valley Fire Protection District, which was succeeded by Fontana Fire Protection District on July 1, 2008. June 10, 2008, Central Valley Fire Protection District entered into an agreement (Agreement No. 08-476) with Fontana Fire Protection District whereby San Bernardino County maintains administration of CFD 2002-2.
The community facilities district finances fire protection services by the levy of an annual Special Tax sufficient to pay for such fire protection services.
