Preparing for El Niño and Heavy Rain

San Bernardino County Special Districts is preparing for the potential impacts of El Niño and periods of heavy rain across the communities we serve.

Special Districts road crews maintain roads within designated County Service Areas and road districts. Before and during storms, crews monitor conditions, prepare equipment and respond to road-related impacts as conditions and resources allow.

Special Districts road districts provide road maintenance services only and are not flood-control districts. Residents are encouraged to prepare early, stay informed and use caution during severe weather.

Storm preparation and response is a coordinated effort across San Bernardino County Public Works.
