The Department of Public Works – Special Districts held a groundbreaking event for the Kessler Park Revitalization Project on Friday evening, August 11th. The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors authorized this exciting new project, which is funded through the Bloomington Community Benefit/Improvement Reserve, the American Rescue Plan Act and Fifth Supervisorial District discretionary funds. The project will enhance facilities within Kessler Park, which is operated by the Bloomington Recreation and Park District. The district is currently in the construction phase for the amenities, which will result in quality improvements for all park visitors, including the Bloomington Little League, whose home fields are at Kessler Park. Improvements for the park will include:

  • 1,383 Square-Foot Snackbar and Restroom Floor Plan
  • Upgraded Facade
  • Decorative Shade Improvements
  • New Concrete Walkways between Ball Fields
  • 2 New HVAC Systems
  • Site Improvements, Landscaping
  • 20-Gallon Hot Water Tank
  • Renovated, updated restrooms
  • New Stainless Steel Fixtures
  • New windows and doors
  • Updated Specialty Food Service Equipment
  • Vandalism-Resistant Exterior Lighting
  • Perimeter Wrought Iron Fencing
  • High-Speed Wi-Fi Access

This park renovation will be of great value to the thriving Bloomington community by revitalizing the park, enhancing recreational opportunities with increased baseball and softball use, and fostering a sense of community pride and engagement. The park will continue to be a gathering place that promotes well-being, strengthens social connections, and provides a safe and enjoyable environment for people of all ages to come together and create lasting memories.
