Work on the Lake Gregory Dam buttress started back up on February 25, 2019. Due to the recent heavy snow and rain conditions, work on the Lake Gregory Dam was temporarily halted.

“Thanks to the hard work and foresight of the crew, primary work on the Lake Gregory Dam Improvement Project is on schedule to be complete before the end of March 2019,” said County Supervisor Janice Rutherford. “Anticipating rough winter conditions, our crews worked tirelessly in advance of the storms to ensure completion of the dam would not be delayed.”

For the remaining work period, construction hours will be Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the potential for Sunday work days as necessary. In the first few days, crews will make necessary repairs to the site caused by the storms. The work site will then be prepared for crews to continue the remaining dam construction.

The retrofitting of the 80-year-old dam is the primary focus of the project. Once the dam is complete, secondary work will begin immediately to include road repairs in the project area, re-striping San Moritz Way, hiking trail improvements and grading the field adjacent to the San Moritz Lodge.
