On Saturday, April 20th, Bloomington Recreation & Parks (BRPD) partnered with San Bernardino County Code Enforcement and 5th District Supervisor, Joe Baca Jr. for annual Community Clean Up Day in Bloomington in celebration of Earth Day.

Over 75 volunteers from the community came together to remove trash from the nearby homeless encampments near Santa Ana and Cedar Avenue.

BRPD staff members helped clean up as well as supplied the volunteers with trash bags, trash pickers and hand tools. BRPD used their John Deer Gator to run bags and big pieces of trash to the dump trailers. BRPD had event tents, PA system with music and cold water for the volunteers and staff.

Code Enforcement provided the truck, dump trailers and certified the area was safe to clean before the event. Supervisor Baca sponsored a BBQ lunch truck for all volunteers. California State Assembly Eloise Gomez Reyes office presented both 5th District and BRPD with a Certificates of Recognition. The event was a great success!
