The District currently oversees the parks and facilities at several locations throughout the Joshua Tree area. All of our park facilities are available for public use during the hours of dawn to dusk.
Sunburst Park is located at 6171 Sunburst Avenue. The park is home to the Joshua Tree Community Center and features 2 tennis courts, basketball courts, 3 ball fields (one with turf), a racket ball court, a water play park, a ½ mile walking trail, playgrounds and a skate park. Various shaded picnic areas with barbecues are also on site and are available to be reserved
Sunburst Park provides the only Water Play Park in the area. Water features and fountains cycle through a series of events guaranteed to get participants wet and provide many fun memories. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, the splash pad is open Thursday through Monday from 11a.m. till 7p.m. Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. It is only open after Labor Day on Saturdays and Sundays in September.
Community Park is located at 6617 Easterly Drive. This park is home to our preschool program which offers an academic program designed to prepare children ages 3-5 for Kindergarten. This park also features a shaded picnic area with barbecue, a basketball court, and a play ground area.
Friendly Hills Park is located just south of Friendly Hills Elementary School on Sunny Vista Road. Besides offering a beautiful view of the Joshua Tree area, this park features several play ground areas, as well as, a shaded picnic area with barbecues.
