Road Design Plans Nearing 80% Complete

In late December, property owners in the Snowdrop Road area are likely to have seen geotechnical boring equipment working near historic washout areas of the road. Several borings were taken to determine the soil characteristics of the road where undocumented fill was previous used to restore damaged sections. The final report is expected this week, which will allow the road engineers to finalize their designs. The district anticipates our engineers to deliver the 80% road design plan and construction cost estimate next week, which will allow district staff to evaluate these plans with the goal of generating the bid request documents and securing any additional easements or grading permission letters that may be required. While bid documentation is being prepared over the next couple weeks, the road engineers will be able to provide a full 90-100% complete plan set for staff review and bid release.
