The Department of Public Works – Special Districts is pleased to announce the completion of the Glen Helen Small Bridge Project!
The existing wood bridge was located on the island at Glen Helen Regional Park. The project replaced the existing wood bridge with a steel prefabricated bridge. Replacement of the existing bridge will allow park employees safe vehicle access for any repairs or future upgrades to the island, as well as provide a safe route for public access to the fishing lake.
The existing small bridge, located at the southeast side of the island bridge, was also replaced. The work consisted of installing all-new beams and planks and some cosmetic updates for the existing railings. This bridge serves as a pedestrian walking path, along the pathway around the lake.
